Heartburn or acidity can make you go crazy! You run from pillar to post and try to find foods for acidity that will give you relief. It can range from a mild to a serious illness. Jeera (Caraway seeds):

Add a tsp of Caraway seeds (Jeera) to one and a half liters of water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes. Drink it while still warm, 2-3 times a day.

Jaggery:

Eat a small lump of jaggery every day to reduce the acidity.

Condiments:

Grind equal quantities of clove and cardamom and use the powder as a mouth freshener after a meal. It helps to cure acidity and also bad breath which is a common accompaniment in people with acidity.

Ginger:

Cut an inch of ginger  and simmer in 2 cups of water, covered, for 30 minutes. Strain and drink it about 20 minutes before a meal.

Almonds:

Almonds help to quickly control the heart burn. A few pieces of almonds taken daily helps to relieve acidity. Having few almonds daily is really helpful in keeping acidity at bay!

Holy basil/ Tulsi:

It is easily found in every household. Chew 5-6 leaves which is a great way to curb the acidity.

Milk:

Cold milk without any sugar is a natural reliever in heartburn due to acidity.
